The entry-level dental assistant course is made to introduce students to the various aspects of dentistry needed for becoming a competent and proficient dental assistant.

We are able to teach the fundamentals of dental assisting in a shorter amount of time.

COURSE #1

ENTRY LEVEL DENTAL ASSISTANT IN A 8 WEEK DURATION COURSE AND 40 – HOUR EXTERNSHIP

 

We are licensed and regulated by the Florida commision for independent Education,  Florida Department of Education, so you will receive the same certificates to practice as a dental assistands as any other school in Florida.

Students may begin seeking employment as a dental assistant with the dental assistant (1230 hours diploma of completion) No board is required to work as a dental assistant.

Students that will like to pursue National Recognition can apply through Dental Assistant National Board for the DANB Certification at:  https://www.danb.org

DENTAL ASSISTANT COURSE

Dental assistant and  CDA certification after passing the  CDA test in eleven months (11 months) and 1230 hours

  • The program is offered through theory and Lab presence classes, and interaction between the students and faculty occurs using a classroom/ Lab environment that encourages student participation. ​​

  • American Academy of Dental Science utilizes each course as a modular class to complete the program and although more individual effort and initiative will be required to successfully master the material and pass each course of study from the Dental Assistant at American Academy of Dental Science of which faculties will assist and facilitate educational needs to assist with the student’s academic success.

        Cost: $11.500

SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS (SAP) POLICY

All students are required to meet the standards of academic performance that are outlined in the sections below and they are evaluated regularly to determine that the standards are met. These standards have multiple components: a minimum cumulative grade point average requirement (CGPA); a minimum successful completion rate based on all clock hours attempted; and, a maximum time frame requirement to successfully complete all required clock hours attempted for the program. As described below, each student must achieve the minimum CGPA within the maximum time frame established, achieving the required completion rate of at least 70% at each evaluation point. Failure to meet these standards may result in dismissal from the academic program and ineligibility to earn the Diploma.

STUDENT’S RIGHT TO KNOW

  • The licensing and accrediting agencies that have reviewed and approved their school

  • The school’s full-time faculty, their specializations and credentials and the sufficiency of their facilities

  • The school’s program information and the cost of the entire program

  • How the school determines Satisfactory Academic Progress

  • Due dates for mandatory fees and payment procedures, including loan terms and repayment obligations

  • The school’s refund policy

  • The school’s grievance policies, including how to appeal academic decisions and how to file a formal complaint

  • The school’s Transfer of Clock Hours policy

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

The student must comply with the following requirements in order to receive a diploma.

  1. Meet all financial obligations incurred with the institution.

  2. Complete the total number of hours required by the student’s program and have an overall CGPA of 2.0 or greater.

STANDARDS OF CONDUCT

Students enrolling in American Academy of Dental Science assume an obligation to conduct themselves in a manner compatible with American Academy of Dental Science function as an educational institution. To fulfill its functions of imparting and gaining knowledge, American Academy of Dental Science retains the power to maintain order within the school and to exclude those who are disruptive of the educational process. Unprofessional conduct which discredits the individual or American Academy of Dental Science will be subject to termination.

GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION

A student’s enrollment can be terminated at the discretion of the institution for insufficient academic progress, non-payment of academic costs, or failure to comply with rules and policies established by the institution as outlined in the catalog and this agreement.

EMERGENCY CONTACTS

American Academy of Dental Science is not legally or financially responsible for medical care and does not provide the services of a physician. The Fire Department Rescue Service provides first aid emergency health service.

At the time of enrollment, each student should provide the name of the individual to contact in an emergency on the appropriate line of the application form.  Students should carry emergency information at all times, as well as any medical insurance card(s).

HOUSING

American Academy of Dental Science does not maintain housing for students.

REQUIRED BOOKS

You are required to either purchase or rent the Essentials of dental assisting texbook for class. You can buy or rent in Elsevier or Amazon as long as it is the same edition used in the course. 

These books are required only in the two first courses. More details will be provided by the coordinators.

COMBO CERTIFICATION

The expanded functions dental assistant certification. EFDA and Dental X-Ray certification combo course is meant for the dental assistant who has been formally trained by a licensed dentist experienced in expanded Functions with a minimum of 3 months on the job.

You must email proof of training to our office before you attend the course of the clinical hands-on portion held in our office.

CERTIFICATION #2

DENTAL X-RAY REFRESHAL COURSE FOR CERTIFICATION

To attend dental X-Ray certification courses you must provide proof of already done training in dental assisting by having an employment/training verification form signed employment verification before attending part 2 of the course form the clinical hands taking place at our office.  This course is for dental assitant who has formally trained by a licensed dentist in expanded functions duties with a minimum of 3 months on the job training.

This is a 1 day long course.

Cost: $320

Our Courses have been divided into two parts.

 

Part 1- the instructional written portion of the course and exams are completed online before you attend.

Part 2 – is the clinical hands-on portion of the course completed in person at our facility. An exam from both of the parts will be required in order to earn the certification.

This is a certification course, not a training course.

These courses are approved by Florida board of dentistry.

CERTIFICATION #3

This course is for the dental assistant who has already been formally trained by а licensed dentists in expanded functions duties with a minimum of 3 months on the job training.

 

You must email your employment verification form, or application for training within our office application before you attend the course.  This course has two parts.

Dental x-ray
Dental Checkup

Part 1 will be focused on the instructional written portion of the course regarding exams. These will particularly be completed online before you attend.

Part 2:  Will consist of practice. 

A Florida expanded functions dental assistant certification will be given upon satisfactory completion of written and clinical tests.This course is approved by the Florida board of dentistry

The EFDA certification course consists of 16 hours of training to include 8 hours of didactic online training and 8 hours of clinical hands-on training of expanded functions dental assisting tasks.

You can pay 50 dollars to rent the instruments in the office.

Admission is open to any qualified applicant. No qualified person may be excluded from enrollment in the American Academy of Dental Science (AADS) training program based on age, race, gender, disability, or national origin.  Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Have an interest in the chosen program/course by internet

  2. Be at least 18 years of age or have written permission of parents or guardians

  3. Provide proof of at least a high school diploma or GED
